Just a few years ago, Massive Attack came to the Bowl to kick off the New Noise Music Festival. This year, they returned during the festival but not as officially part of it. In my opinion, this show was the best of the year, so it was hard to have to leave a little early to make it to Soho Music Club to photograph another show.
TV on the Radio opened the show, bringing their own diehard groupies. But Massive Attack put on such an amazing performance, both visually and audibly, that I almost forgot about the opening act. The band was draped in a curtain of lasers, back-dropped by a spectacular display of moving verbiage. The result was a multimedia bonanza.
