My yoga class last night was interrupted by a power outage that forced us to do the second half in the dark. We could smell the smoke of burning wood getting more intense, peaking our curiosity. After class a short stroll to the street revealed a erie glow of orange emitting from the hills and mountains, interspersed with giant flames leaping from some of the largest visible mansions. I ran home and grabbed my camera. There's a couple shots in the shoot from my driveway. Next I headed to Stearn's Wharf, where I shot the rest of Santa Barbara and Montecito burning. The wharf crew were regularly dousing the pier with water to keep it nice and wet. |
