This live discussion featuring Google's CEO, Eric Schmidt, and CNN's Fareed Zakaria, was an interesting mish-mash of technology and politics, intertwined in today's social culture. The event was held at The Arlignton Theatre on May 9th, 2011.

The dynamic duo of food entertainment, Anthony Bourdain and Eric Rippert, put on an interesting performance at The Arlington Theatre on May 1, 2011. The two entertainers traded off doing a Q&A of each other, enticing clever and witty remarks from each other.

This was my first time photographing a circus. Because there was lots of fast movement in a low light situation, it was a bit challenging. Fortunately, I was not restricted to a short time-frame, so after futzing with my camera for a while with a lot of trial and error, I finally figured it out. This would have been impossible in the days of old with a film camera.
In any case, I was able to acquire some interesting shots at The Arlington Theatre on Sept 24, 2011. Check out the review by David Palermo and the gallery at thearlingtontheatre.com
Back to Santa Barbara for the first time in may years, Primus can to play for its fans at The Arlington Theatre on Oct 21, 2011.
For most of the show, front-man, Les Claypool, and guitarist, Larry LaLonde, were in dark shadows, making this a difficult act to photograph. Adding to the challenge was the fact that there were giant bass stacks on the sides of the stage, blocking the view from the front corners, where I like to shoot. In order to get some decent material, I was related to shoot from the back and balcony for most of the show.

A bit frail but not yet passe, Mr. Gordon Lightfoot treated Santa Barbara to a reprise of his significant career. I photographed him at the Arlington Theatre on Nov, 9th, 2011.

Andrew Weil is an amazing doctor.
Like most UCSB Arts & Leisure lectures I shoot at The Arlington Theatre, I really end up learning something valuable. I was so impressed by Dr. Weil, that over the next few days, I watched several more interviews and lectures of his that were available on YouTube.
